The only answer I have is a good old cliche' - you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

Lots of stuff is going on outside the site that is connected to it, we'll be updating soon. We are finishing up on the magazine and every friday night we host a spoken word open mic thing that will probably eventually turn into something bigger.

Paul's got a lot of projects going as usual, his own are going well, but some that he's been working on with others are giving him trouble because he's the only one contributing.

I am still working like crazy trying to update www.indiebookshelf.com - it's coming along - had to upgrade my hosting and change the format to make it easier to add content, well that didn't work out quite the way I planned, but it's getting together now.

think i might throw some things in the mix to get people motivated on here.

I've only just come back to the fold after some months. Thought it was about time I got back interested in writing and reading. I too noticed a lull. Maybe others have been doing the same? On the subject of titles - I am annoyingly simplistic with mine. I like things pretty spare...

Hey - you and Paul work like Trojans! I think this site is great, I think I go through stages of being right into it and then for some reason I get a bit embarrassed and duck out for a while. What I like about this site is the diversity of material on here. There's a real mish mash of people. I guess for the non-hardcore amongst us, the lack of one specific goal or focus makes it more of an effort to get involved with other people's work. It's sheer laziness on my part - I barely allow myself time to write let alone really devoting time to other writer's efforts. Hey, talking of titles, how about chucking in a random word as a title and inviting everyone to write a short piece with that as the starting point. I always find that interesting and inspiring to see the different angles people bring to the same source. Perhaps give it a couple of weeks and have them all together on one link/box/whatever - it may allow people to read other writer's that they may not have got round to choosing to look at before. Not as a competition - just a as a focus to get the non-hardcore like me back into the swing. Not exactly an original idea - quite shit really but I'm sure you know what I mean. I know I need a kick up the arse! x

in a way i'm glad people here don't post a lot because some sites get turned on to people who post waaaay too much, and it blows up and you get all types of people who write for hobby. i think the people we have attracted so far do represent a diverse, and yet interesting crowd that keeps it interesting and not a bunch of people posting the same copy cat stuff. i like it here.

paul and i just talked about updating the site - there's more to come on that. lots of ideas just passed through our lips. we'll see what happens.

The number of times I've nagged Paul about working too hard but not focussing on one thing at a time. No, I mean suggesting that I am never sure where he is. Sorry about going around posting everywhere, just seeing if anything is going on because all of a sudden I started to get email alerts again which I hadn't seen for ages.

yep, people are buzzing around again. i'd like to throw something out to get everyone writing and posting but i have to take a test in a few, so it'll be later. paul and i did talk about updating the site over the weekend, though - we'll see what happens over the weekend. as soon as the mag is finished there will be lots of buzz around here
