A small insanity
moved past
and Hugh the PopCat
moved after it
(as PopCats do from now and then)
But the sneaky little insanity
moved
faster than the PopCat
for this moment
(which is rarely)
And the PopCat missed

An eye opened
not of its own accord
but because the PopCat
held it that way
The eye belonged to

and the Ape stops again
Reaches pest.. or past
And gets a grip on
Hugh
as he screams

HouseApe
When?
Now, gotta go duud!

Again.
"You must be there". A new soft voice sang.
And the thing that may have been,
or perhaps once was, put its blood upon the stage,
as it quieted the voices.
Are you still there? Was said into the sleep.
And the Thing that may have been, or perhaps once was.
